Maryland casino hosts Live! Poker Classic starting March 15

Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland will host the Live! Poker Classic from March 15 through March 27. The tournament features 17 events with guarantees from $10,000 to $500,000.

The Classic includes mixed games, knockout tournaments and events for seniors and ladies. The $2,200 Main Event guarantees a massive $500,000 prize pool.

Satellites run daily to get a seat at the table

Despite the popularity of poker in the state, Maryland online poker is illegal. Poker players have to visit one of the four Maryland casinos that offer live poker tables if they want to play.

There are a number of satellites running daily which will award a seat into many of the Live! Poker Classic events. There are also three multi-flight events with shots at entering on multiple days. The guarantees on these events are $50,000, $250,000 and $500,000.

Along with the Live! Poker Classic series, the Maryland casino in Hanover holds poker tournaments multiple times a year. In 2022 alone, the casino’s poker room hosted four different series, each at least a week in length.

Main Event should attract a crowd

The 17 events at the Live! Poker Classic are chock full of unique poker games. The icing on the cake is the $2,200 Main Event that guarantees a $500,000 prize pool.

The Mid-Atlantic Poker Open was held at this very poker room in January and exceeded the $500,000 guarantee. The tournament attracted 446 entries for a prize pool of $773,268, with $126,059 being the top prize.

In the Main Event, players begin with 40,000 chips and play 45-minute levels on Day 1. Players that survive at the end of Level 1 will move on to Day 2 and play 60-minute levels to hopefully make it into the money and play the final table on Day 3.
