FanDuel $300 sign-up promo in Maryland – explained
Claiming the sign-up bonus at FanDuel Maryland is simple, as no FanDuel promo code is required. And if you claim the bonus, you’ll get $300 in bonus bets.
Why FanDuel bonus bets are better than the rest
If you think all sportsbook bonus bets are the same, think again. FanDuel Sportsbook bonus bets have a distinct advantage over many of its competitors. That’s because FanDuel’s bonus bets can be divided however you choose.
For example, if you ended up with $300 in FanDuel bonus bets you could do this:
- $20 bet on the Baltimore Ravens moneyline
- $20 bet on the Ravens quarterback to score a touchdown
- $20 bet on a Ravens same-game parlay
- $20 bet on a Ravens to win the Super Bowl
- $20 bet on a four-leg NFL parlay
- $20 bet on the Washington Capitals to cover the spread
- $20 bet on the Washington Wizards moneyline
- $20 bet on the Washington Wizards starting point guard to score the first points in a Wizards game
- $20 on an NBA-NHL cross-sport parlay
- $20 on a Baltimore Orioles World Series futures bet
To be clear, you also don’t have to make $20 bets, you could make bets for $50 or $100 or even $0.50. Bonus bets at FanDuel are yours to divide as you please. By comparison, a $300 bonus bet at most other sportsbooks in Maryland would have to be used all at once.
You do have to use your bonus bets in 7 days; otherwise, they will expire. But other than that stipulation, the choices are nearly endless. Remember, no FanDuel Maryland bonus code is needed.
How does FanDuel’s welcome bonus rate?
We give the FanDuel welcome bonus a solid “A.” The only thing that could elevate it to “A+” status would be giving out cash instead of bonus bets as a refund, but the way bonus bets work at FanDuel is still the closest thing to that at online sportsbooks in Maryland.
Can I trust FanDuel Sportsbook?
Yes, you can trust FanDuel Sportsbook in Maryland. FanDuel is among the largest sports betting sites in the US, with legal online sportsbooks in 20+ states and daily fantasy sports in over 40, and those numbers continue to rise.
FanDuel received a sports wagering license from the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission, allowing it to operate in the state. Additionally, the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Control Commission established the rules and regulations under which it has to operate. State authorities would not have licensed FanDuel if there was any reason to suspect it of being untrustworthy.
FanDuel also has direct local ties, including its retail sportsbooks at Live! Casino in Hanover.
The minimum age to bet in Maryland is 21, and you must be physically located in the state when placing bets.
Getting started sports betting at FanDuel Maryland
Follow our links to open a FanDuel online sportsbook account in Maryland. Doing so will ensure that you receive the No. 1 FanDuel welcome bonus, no FanDuel Maryland bonus code needed.
Then you have two options: If you already have a FanDuel Fantasy account, you’ll select that button. If not, you’ll fill out the sign-up form. You’ll need to enter the following info:
- Name
- Address
- Phone number
- Birthdate
- Last four digits of your Social Security number
You also need to create a username and password. After that, you’ll be ready to start betting at FanDuel.
How do I download the FanDuel Maryland app?
The FanDuel Sportsbook app is one of the top sports betting apps. It’s free for both Android and iOS and only takes a minute or two to download and install. Head to the FanDuel website’s app section and choose the option to download the sportsbook app that’s appropriate for your mobile device. Follow the prompts from there to complete the download and installation process.
Where do I find FanDuel’s latest promotions?
FanDuel Sportsbook promos are available in a couple of spots. When you open the app or website, there is a banner near the top that you can cycle through that will show most of the current promotions. To make sure you don’t miss anything, though, you want to click on the promotions tab at the top of the page.
Once at the promotions page, you’ll want to opt in to any offers that interest you. All FanDuel promotions require you to opt in to claim them. To do so, click “More info” and then opt in on the following page. Once you’ve done so, a green “Accepted” box will show up in the photo associated with the promotion.
FanDuel insurance promotions
The majority of FanDuel’s promotions are insurance deals of some form. Here are a couple of common options you’ll see:
- Parlay insurance: This is the most common insurance offer. Most of the time you need to have a parlay of at least three legs and sometimes at least five legs. If your parlay then falls one leg short, you’ll receive a refund up to a set amount, usually $25. The refunds are paid as bonus bets. Sometimes FanDuel offers parlay insurance regardless of how many legs miss.
- Correct score insurance: You will receive a refund if your correct score bet was wrong but your team still won the game. Read through the offer carefully because usually, these promotions are for specific games only.
Spread the Love promotions
FanDuel’s Spread the Love promotion is one of the closest things to a free money giveaway you’ll find at an online sportsbook in Maryland.
- FanDuel selects a game and choses one team to cover the spread.
- For every set number of bettors who participate in the contest, FanDuel moves the line by one point.
- The line will likely move by a lot, often approaching triple digits. When that happens, there is virtually no chance of losing.
- The odds for such bets are -110, and the max allowable bet is $50 per user. That still means you would win just over $45, though.
Why should I choose the FanDuel Sportsbook app?
There are multiple reasons why FanDuel is a good option for placing sports bets in Maryland. Here are our three favorite features:
Same-game parlays
A relatively new addition to sports betting, same-game parlays can make for fun wagering, and FanDuel was one of the very first to offer SPGs and continues to have some of the best SGP offerings.
These parlays allow you to place spread, moneyline, over/under and prop bets all for one team in one game. These wagers are available for NBA, NFL, MLB and soccer games, with more sports like to be available in the future.
FanDuel bonus bets are better than other bonus bets
Bonus bets are common for Maryland sportsbook promotional offers. Those bonus bets typically need to be used all at once. But at FanDuel Maryland, you can divvy up your bonus bets however you choose. For instance, if you get a $50 FanDuel bonus bet, you could do this:
- Bet $10 on a Baltimore Ravens same-game parlay
- Bet $10 on the Baltimore Orioles moneyline
- Bet $10 on the Washington Commanders over/under
- Bet $10 on the Washington Wizards spread
- Bet $10 on a parlay across various sports
As you can see, the way FanDuel bonus bets work is far superior to what you’ll find at other online sportsbooks in Maryland.
One account for sports betting and DFS
If you’re a daily fantasy sports fan, that makes FanDuel an even better choice, as you can have one account for your sports betting and DFS needs. Win money in one and you can spend it on the other if you so choose.
What won’t I like about the FanDuel sports betting app?
There’s probably not a whole lot you won’t enjoy about FanDuel, but there are a couple of things that the sportsbook could stand to do better.
No loyalty club
It’s surprising that FanDuel still does not have a loyalty program of any type. There’s no question that its promotions and overall odds are great, but adding rewards for loyal customers would be a tremendous addition.
Building parlays can be a hassle
While it’s pretty easy to create parlays for spread, moneyline and over/under wagers, it becomes tougher if you want to bet on player or team props. It would be great if you could click on a sport and just see player prop bets for that league. As it is, you have to drill down into each game and search for prop bets.
Always opting into promotions
This is fairly minor, but it’s still worth mentioning. If FanDuel has a promotion that you’d like to use, you always need to opt in to it. This only takes a few seconds, but the real problem is if you forget and miss out on the benefits.
What kind of bets can I make at FanDuel online betting?
FanDuel sports betting offers a variety of potential wagers. You can bet against the spread, build complex parlay and round robin bets and even wager on games while they happen. Here’s a game listing to help explain the most common and popular sports bets:
Run Line | Moneyline | Total | |
---|---|---|---|
Detroit Tigers | +1.5 (-145) | +140 | Over 9 (-115) |
Baltimore Orioles | -1.5 (+126) | -166 | Under 9 (-105) |
How do I win a run line bet?
For a run line bet — baseball’s version of the point spread that you’ll see for basketball and football — the team you bet on has to cover the spread. That means different things for favorites and underdogs. In this example, the Orioles are the favorite. To cover, they have to win by more than 1.5 runs, so two runs or more. As the underdog, the Tigers can cover either by losing by a single run or winning the game outright. The odds appear in parentheses, and we’ll explain how they work below.
What is the moneyline?
The moneyline odds are on each team to win. The larger the negative number, the more a team is favored. The larger the positive number, meanwhile, the more of an underdog a team is.
American odds are based on $100. For Baltimore, -166 means you must wager $166 to win $100 on a successful bet. For Detroit, +140 means a $100 bet would win you $140 in return. It works the same way for the odds listed for the run line and total.
What does over and under mean?
Totals bets, also known as over/unders, are wagers on the number of runs the two teams will combine to score in the game. For the example above, an over bet would be a wager that the teams will score more than nine runs total. An under bet would be a wager on fewer than nine runs.
Often sportsbooks will have totals bets end in .5 to prevent ties, but not always. In our example, if the teams combine for exactly nine runs, all totals bets will push. When a bet pushes, you will receive your money back and it won’t count as part of a parlay or other multi-bet.
Prop bets
Prop bets are basically side bets. In an MLB game, for example, you could place bets on a player to get three or more hits, or for a pitcher to have a certain number of strikeouts. You also can bet on team accomplishments and game situations, like which team will score first or will the game go to extra innings.
Parlays at FanDuel
To build a parlay at FanDuel, you need to select at least two bets. Then, in your bet slip, you will see options for placing single wagers and at the bottom an option for placing a parlay.
You also can create teasers and round robins at FanDuel. You’ll start the same way by adding bets. Then if a teaser or round robin is available for your picks, those choices will appear below the parlay option. Just click on the selection you want.
Futures and live betting
To see potential futures bets at FanDuel, just click on the sport you’re interested in and then choose “Futures” from the top. Sometimes just outright winners will be available, but for the more popular leagues (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB), you’ll find division/conference winners and player futures, as well.
For live bets, you’ll see a tab labeled “Live Now” on the FanDuel app and website. It also has a number next to it that shows how many games you can bet on live at that exact moment.
For the most part, the bigger the game, the more live betting options you will have. Sometimes that means just spread, moneyline, and totals bets, while for other games you can bet on what will happen on the next play or pitch.
Can I bet on the Baltimore Ravens at FanDuel Maryland sportsbook?
To quote Omar Little from The Wire, “Oh, indeed.” FanDuel provides myriad betting options when it comes to the Baltimore Ravens and the NFL as a whole. All of the bets we discussed above will be available, along with additional bets distinct to football.
- Touchdown scorers: You can bet on who will score a game’s first or last TD or just on a player to score at any time. In addition, you could bet on a player to have multiple touchdowns.
- First team to X: You’re betting on which team will reach a certain point total first. You’ll have three options: Team 1, Team 2 or neither.
- Quarter and half bets: You’ll find a multitude of bets for quarters and halves at FanDuel. You can pick who will win single quarters/halves or other bets such as which quarter/half will be the highest scoring.
- Time bets: An example of a time wager would be, “Will either team score during the game’s final two minutes?” You also will see time bets for the end of the half and the start of games.
- Player prop bets: FanDuel offers a number of prop bets. For player props, you might want to combine bets and create a same-game parlay. For instance, if you pick the Baltimore Ravens quarterback to go over his passing total, you might also want to pick a Ravens receiver and tight end to go over their receiving totals.
There clearly are numerous betting options for Ravens games. Even if you’re not an NFL fan, though, FanDuel has extensive betting markets for all the top pro and college sports leagues.

Earlier in the year the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency made it clear that a 2022 launch was expected. John Martin had this to say in October 2022:

You also can shut down your account. You can either take a temporary timeout for a period of your choosing or close your account for either one, three or five years. Keep in mind that this ban is for all states where FanDuel operates, not just Maryland.

How does FanDuel compare to other Maryland sportsbooks?
It is our belief that FanDuel is clearly one of the top online sportsbooks in Maryland.
There is quite a bit that goes into being a quality oddsmaker, and FanDuel checks pretty much all the boxes. There’s the great app and website, variety of betting markets, quality odds, and top-notch promotions. Add in the fact that you can place same-game parlays, and FanDuel has a lot going for it.
If you’re considering signing up with just one sportsbook in Maryland, FanDuel should be on a very short list of ones you’re considering. And if you plan on having multiple sportsbook accounts, FanDuel should be top of the list along with Caesars Maryland, BetMGM Maryland or the DraftKings Maryland Sportsbook app.
