Perhaps the Memorial Day weekend will mark your return to some semblance of normal life. Maybe it’ll even include a trip to some Maryland casinos.
This annual holiday weekend traditionally ushers in the summer fun each year.
However, Memorial Day 2021 is truly a special one. It follows more than a year of social-distancing measures and other coronavirus-related precautions.
For the first time in a long time, Maryland residents are ready to play.
Maryland casinos on Memorial Day weekend
According to the Maryland Department of Health, more than 69% of Marylanders have already received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
With the risks now reduced and coronavirus cases in MD sharply trending down, Gov. Larry Hogan lifted all pandemic-related restrictions as of May 15.
However, what does that mean for Maryland casinos, their guests and their staff members?
If you’re ready to hit the slots and play some cards this weekend, what can you expect? Are masks really no longer required, and are there any capacity restrictions? For the most part, yes. But not all in cases.

All of the casino properties are still doing thorough cleaning and sanitization. Additionally, nearly all restaurants, shops and entertainment venues are open or in the process of reopening.
