FanDuel features Robokeeper at Live! Casino
Now that Maryland online sports betting has launched, retail sportsbooks are under more pressure than ever to stand out among the competition. FanDuel is standing out from the crowd by hosting a World Cup event featuring a robot goalkeeper at its in-person sportsbook inside Live! Casino.
Through Dec. 18, guests can attempt to score a goal on the German-designed Robokeeper goalie for a chance to win $5,000 in bonus bets from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Take your shot at $5,000 in bonus bets
Robokeeper is a computer-controlled robot goalie designed to stop shots from crossing the goal line. Kicking a soccer ball past it certainly isn’t an easy task. The Robokeeper has proven its defensive abilities against even the toughest football legends, like Lionel Messi.
If you think you have what it takes, head down to Live! and give it a shot. Just enter through the north entrance near The Prime Rib to take on the Robokeeper.
Both new and current FanDuel bettors can partake in this event.
Participants are given five shots against Robokeeper. And regardless of whether you score or not, all participants who take on Robokeeper earn a $25 bonus bet at FanDuel Sportsbook. Participants can only take five kicks a day against Robokeeper.
Those who find a way to sneak a shot past the Robokeeper earn a chance at winning $5,000 in bonus bets through FanDuel Sportsbook. This top prize is awarded daily to the player who scores the most goals that day. In the event of a tie, the bets are split between the winners.
Nonprofits can win money for their charity
Live! Casino also gives nonprofits a chance to raise money for their organizations with this event. Dubbed Kick for Charity, nonprofits must simply form a 10-person team and visit FanDuel Sportsbook in person. Each player is given three shots to score a goal on Robokeeper.
For every goal slipped past the Robokeeper, Live! Casino will donate $500 to the team’s organization. Then once a team completes its 30 combined kicks, they’re treated to lunch at the new Sports & Social food court.
The first 150 players who sign up for an online FanDuel account via these nonprofit teams also receive a FanDuel soccer jersey.
Ryan Eller, executive vice president and general manager of Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, said he’s most excited about giving back to the community.
“There is so much excitement around the World Cup right now, and giving our guests the opportunity to beat the Robokeeper provides another layer of entertainment to our market-leading sportsbook. Community giving is ingrained in our company, so being able to give our nonprofit partners the opportunity to have some fun while supporting their mission felt like a perfect way to give back.”
