Super Bowl LVI is less than a month away, and if you’re like me, your couch is going to be your prime destination to watch the Big Game.
But if you’re looking to shake things up this year, there are tons of viewing destinations in Maryland from which to choose.
I took to social media to hear where my fellow Marylanders like to watch the Super Bowl. Here are the places that friends, family and followers suggested for the Sunday, Feb. 13 NFL title game.
Top 10 places to watch Super Bowl LVI in Maryland
Feeling adventurous? Ready to leave home to watch Super Bowl LVI?
If so, be sure to do it safely. And consider these potential viewing destinations that folks recommended.
IPIC Theaters
One of my fellow Morgan State alums suggested this place to me. He’s a well-respected football analyst, so I take his opinion very seriously.
IPIC Theaters are upscale movie theaters, and there’s one nestled in Bethesda, MD. I’ve never been to this place, but according to Google, it looks pretty legit. This venue offers in-theatre dining with pretty affordable menu options.
There’s also another restaurant inside of the theater called City Perch Kitchen & Bar. All in all, this seems like an upscale place to watch the Super Bowl, if that’s the type of vibe you’re looking for.
Dave & Buster’s
Eat, drink, play. It doesn’t get better than this at Dave & Buster’s.
There are three Dave & Busters locations in Maryland. My personal favorite is the White Marsh location.
Dave & Busters has a full-service restaurant and bar with tons of flat screens to watch sports.
This place will be a no-brainer for many Marylanders, so if you do decide to come here, I’d suggest arriving early to reserve a table.
MGM National Harbor
Before you ask, no I did not add MGM National Harbor to this list just because I cover sports betting and casinos in Maryland. This was a legit suggestion – and a great suggestion too.
MGM National Harbor not only has tons of restaurants and bars to choose from, but you can also place a sports wager here.
It’s a win-win (no pun intended) watching Super Bowl LVI at MGM National Harbor.
Buffalo Wild Wings
Wings, wings and more wings! This was a common suggestion from my social media poll and a great one for BWW wing-lovers.
Buffalo Wild Wings on a normal day already gives you the gameday feels. The atmosphere for the Super Bowl is going to be off the charts.
This is definitely a Top 5 location for Super Bowl LVI.
World of Beer
World of Beer is a prime spot for beer lovers. With more than 100 different brews to choose from, be sure to have a designated driver for Super Bowl LVI.
There are four WOB locations in MD.
Champions Sport Bar
Champions Sport Bar is not to be confused with Champs Sports Bar & Grill. They’re two different locations.
This sports bar is located in Silver Spring, MD. According to the website, this is considered “the house of sports.” Plus, their drinks look pretty good.
TGI Fridays
TGI Fridays is a staple in the Baltimore community.
The great part about this restaurant is its affordability. You can order anything from a burger to pasta, and you won’t break the bank. Their drink menu is also pretty good. But according to the employees at the White Marsh location, Fridays doesn’t offer a happy hour menu.
Before COVID-19, Fridays used to have a happy hour “all day everyday” sort of vibe. You can imagine my disappointment a week ago when I heard that this was no longer the case. But like my guy Drake said, nothing was the same.
I would definitely add this to your list for the Super Bowl. But much like the other restaurants, arrive early to secure your position.
Bar Louie
Despite Bar Louie filing for bankruptcy and closing three of its five locations in Maryland, that didn’t stop this suggestion from coming into my inbox.
If you do decide to watch the Super Bowl here, you’ll have to go to either the Owings Mills or White Marsh location. I’ve been to both, and I have no complaints.
The food and drinks are delicious, and it’s a great place with a festive atmosphere to watch a game.
Live! Casino & Hotel
This suggestion also came from my social media poll.
Like MGM National Harbor, you can eat, gamble and place a sports bet at Live! Casino & Hotel.
As with other MD casinos, if you watch Super Bowl LVI here, you’ll have many viewing options within the resort. That variety could come in handy during a long game.
Jimmy’s Seafood
Now, this suggestion comes from my own Chelsea Johnson Playbook.
Located on Holabird Avenue in Baltimore, Jimmy’s Seafood has the best seafood in Maryland. The downside is that it’s a bit pricey compared to the other suggestions on this list.
However, if you’re looking for a delicious meal (and not bar food) to eat while you watch Super Bowl 2022, this is the place to go.
